The Portofino Raffia Basket Tote

the only bag i used all week on vacation. beach in the morning, dinner at night, didnt look out of place either way

took it to do laundry and it swallowed two folded towels plus detergent. straw hasnt frayed or shed anywhere. very happy with this one!!

the straw was pretty rigid out of the box, took about a week to soften up. looks great with long skirts. wish it had a little pocket inside

There is a grassy smell when it first arrives. It aired out in a few days by the door. Otherwise well made, it holds a lot for church and errands.

Been using it daily for two weeks. Groceries, water bottle, a cardigan, all fine. The handles have kept their shape and it still looks new.

good size, stands up on its own when theres stuff in it. the tan handles are my favourite part

I wore it with a plain white tee and black skirt. The drop is good on my shoulder, and the bag is big without taking over my whole outfit.

Took this photo on the bed before dinner. It looked cute with a white shirt and linen pants, and it held my cardigan without turning into a huge tote.

The bottom was the part I checked first. It has a soft rounded shape and does not look sloppy when I set the bag down.

Cute bag, but the top edge has a few stray straw bits. Not a deal breaker, but I notice it when I wear sleeveless tops.

The straps came wrapped and needed a minute to smooth out. After that, the real leather felt nice and the straw body looked clean out of the package.

The bag is bigger than I expected in a good way. I can put a paperback, glasses case, wallet and a rolled scarf in it without the sides looking strained. The real leather straps feel smooth on my shoulder.

mine is more oatmeal taupe than bright tan. still pretty, just not the golden straw color i pictured from some photos.

I wanted to show the raffia close because it has little uneven bits, not a flat printed look. That is what made it feel like a real summer bag to me.

put it on my chair for scale. bigger than a purse, smaller than my grocery tote, which is exactly what i needed.

Saturday markets, beach, library books. A month in and it still looks new.

its big. like really big. great for the market, too much for dinner. i knew the measurements going in but somehow it still surprised me lol.

empty it stands up on its own which most straw bags dont do. looks tidy sitting in my hallway

love how it looks but if i load it with groceries the handles press into my shoulder. its fine with normal stuff, a cardigan and water bottle etc. just dont plan on carrying watermelons.

Used it daily since July. Groceries, pool days, one weekend trip as a personal item on the plane. It fit under the seat no problem. The straw softened a little with use which I actually prefer, it slouches nicer now. Zero fraying so far and I have not been gentle with it. My only note is the inside can get crumbs stuck in the texture, I just shake it out. For reference I am usually rough on bags, the last one lasted a season.

A bit more than the cheap ones online but you can feel the difference. Sturdier base, nicer handles.

the other two frayed at the handles within a month. this one is actually stitched on properly, i checked before buying based on another review. i use it for work with a laptop sleeve and it doesnt sag or tip over when i set it down on the train.
