Keep the leather away from rough or sharp surfaces. No direct sun or heat — it dries and fades the hide. If it gets wet, blot with a soft cloth and air-dry in the shade; never soak or machine wash. New veg-tanned leather can transfer a little colour at first, so keep it off pale clothing until it settles. Store in a dust bag, out of damp.
