I almost didn't buy this because I thought it would be too big/bulky for my frame (I'm 5'4). I was wrong. Yes it's huge but that's actually what makes it work — you can wrap it around yourself once, drape it over one shoulder, fold it in half as a regular scarf, or just throw it over your arm when you walk into a restaurant. I wore it over a plain black turtleneck and jeans last Saturday night and my friend said I looked like I was going to fashion week (I was going to get pho). The herringbone weave has this depth to it that photographs really well. The wool is dense enough that it holds whatever shape you put it in but not so heavy that your neck hurts by the end of the night. I'm already thinking about getting the lighter color for spring. Only note: it does pick up some lint from dark coats so I'd avoid wearing it with black wool outerwear.
