Raffia is tougher than it looks. Wipe the brim with a dry cloth after dusty outings. If it gets damp, let it air dry naturally — never use heat, which can make the straw brittle. The frayed edges will stay stable; they won't keep unraveling. If a single strand lifts, trim it flush with small scissors. Store the hat on a hook or brim-down on a flat surface — don't stack heavy things on top. Raffia doesn't fold. That's not a weakness. It means the shape you see today is the shape you'll see next summer.
